Jordan’s allure captivates Bollywood: A grand tour orchestrated by the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) played host to a cohort of 52 Indian journalists, editors, and film influencers. From January 30 to February 2, 2024, the JTB orchestrated a cinematic showcase, luring luminaries from India’s film fraternity to explore Jordan’s cultural tapestry and scenic splendor.

Dubbed as a cinematic odyssey, the entourage roamed across iconic Jordanian landscapes, from the rugged terrains of Wadi Rum to the sun-kissed shores of Aqaba, and the bustling streets of Amman. Amidst this picturesque backdrop, segments of the blockbuster Indian movie “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” unfolded, featuring marquee names like Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, under the directorial baton of Ali Abbas Zafar.

Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, JTB’s Director-General, underscored the symbiotic relationship between filmic endeavors and tourism promotion. His sentiments echoed the sentiment that Jordan’s stability and cultural richness make it an irresistible magnet for global filmmakers, enhancing its allure as a premier tourist destination.

The Royal Film Commission (RFC) played a pivotal role, extending logistical support and expediting permits for the Indian production crew. Mohannad Al Bakri, the RFC’s Managing Director, emphasized how cinematic spectacles filmed in Jordan serve as potent ambassadors, showcasing its diverse locales and rich heritage to audiences worldwide.

Raja Gargour, Chairman of Olivewood Film Studios, extolled Jordan’s burgeoning role as a cinematic powerhouse, shaping a narrative that intertwines history and modernity. He lauded Olivewood’s pivotal contribution in fostering a thriving film industry, transforming Jordan into a cinematic hotspot.

As the Indian media delegation embarked on a curated tour, exploring Jordan’s timeless treasures in Amman, Wadi Rum, Petra, and Aqaba, they were swept away by the country’s cultural opulence and the warmth of its people. Their effusive praise echoed the sentiment of admiration for Jordan’s stability and its significance on both regional and global stages
