Mount Nebo is located in western Jordan, about 10 kilometers from Madaba. It is a sacred place for Christians, standing on a mountain 817 meters above sea level, and part of the Jordan Valley mountain range.

Mount Nebo

For Christians, Mount Nebo holds great importance. The Bible mentions it as the place where Moses saw the Promised Land before his death. It is also believed to be where Prophet Elijah was taken to heaven. In the 4th century, a church was built on the mountain to honor the life of Moses. Later, the church was expanded, becoming a popular pilgrimage site.
