The spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, told the news agency Novosti that tensions remain high in the Middle East, particularly in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone and along the Blue Line between Lebanon and Israel. She noted that the situation is unstable. Zakharova advised Russian citizens to avoid traveling to the region, particularly Israel, Lebanon, and the Palestinian territories, unless it is absolutely necessary. Regarding the security situation in Jordan, Zakharova said it remains stable and that the risk of conflict spreading from the Gaza Strip to Jordanian territory is unlikely. Therefore, Russian citizens can travel to Jordan without significant concern. Zakharova emphasized the importance of following updates and practical recommendations shared on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s information platforms, the official websites of Russian diplomatic missions in the aforementioned countries, the Consular Affairs Department, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ operations center. This advice ensures the safety and security of Russian citizens abroad.
