Resumes Charter Flights to Boost Tourism

The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority has announced the resumption of charter flights to Aqaba as part of its strategic plans to attract more tourists. Hamza Hajj Hassan, the Deputy Chairman of the Authority, highlighted the success of recent artistic and entertainment events in attracting both local and international visitors. These events, along with weekly heritage markets, offer a range of activities including swimming, water sports, and visits to historical and heritage museums. The Aqaba Bird Observatory is also a popular destination for bird-watching enthusiasts. Additionally, land trips to Wadi Rum are gaining popularity among tourists who want to experience the unique pink sand and enjoy breathtaking views of the sunset and stars.

Ahmed Krishan from JTB expressed optimism that the resumption of charter flights will encourage more international airlines to operate in Aqaba. This move signifies the recovery of tourism activity and the region’s ability to overcome previous challenges.

The efforts of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority to promote tourism through various events and activities are proving successful in attracting tourists and boosting the local economy.
